Since 2003, the EACD Working group has organized an annual Workshop which has brought together academics and engineers in automated systems. The aim is manifold:
- to present recent developments in control and diagnosis techniques;
- to present practical applications or open problems;
- to provide an opportunity for industrial partners to express their needs and priorities;
-to review the current activities in the field of Advanced Control and Diagnosis and their implication in Maintenance.

The 15th Workshop was held in Bologna (Italy) on November 2019. It was organized in the continuation of the previous workshops which took place respectively in:

- 2nd Workshop Karlsruhe (Germany) - 2004;
- 3rd Workshop Mulhouse (France) - 2005;
- 4th Workshop Nancy (France) - 2006;
- 5th Workshop Grenoble (France) - 2007;
- 6th Workshop Coventry (United Kingdom) - 2008;
- 7th Workshop Zielona Gora (Poland) - 2009;
- 8th Workshop Ferrara (Italy) - 2010;
- 9th Workshop Budapest (Hungary) - 2011;
- 10th Workshop Copenhagen (Denmark) - 2012;
- 11th Workshop Berlin (Germany) - 2014;
- 12th Workshop Pilsen (Czech Republic) - 2015;
- 13th Workshop Lille (France) - 2016;
- 14th Workshop Bucharest (Romania) - 2017;

The 16th European Workshop on Advanced Control and Diagnosis will be held in Nancy, France, in November 2022.
